Western Kentucky and Murray State are two schools with rich tradition and passion from their fan bases, separated by only 122 miles. The two schools have met 152 times total since 1932 with Western Kentucky leading currently with 98 wins and 54 loses. Yet the two schools have not met since December of 2014. It’s time for that to change.
Even WKU Athletic Director Todd Stewart is on board. It’s time to get the conversation started again. With the recent success of Murray State and Ja Morant and the success that Rick Stansbury has brought to Bowling Green, the two programs are both in great condition and the series needs to be renewed.
Each game will provide a great atmosphere both in Murray and Bowling Green as well as bragging rights amongst fans. So I ask you, Kevin Saal, what is it going to take? Name the year and we’ll start it.
