We all know that WKU Basketball is truly Kentucky’s team, but when WKU Football announced their captains for week 1 vs. Central Arkansas they stated their case for being Kentucky’s team. With all 3 captains being from the state of Kentucky and with 35 players overall being from Kentucky.
Jackson a Senior receiver from Lexington attended Lafayette High School. In his time at Lafayette Jackson totaled 41 catches for 789 yards. (Stats via MaxPreps).
In his career at WKU Jackson has caught 116 passes for 1,588 and 9 touchdowns. Entering his senior season Jackson looks to improve on his junior season which was his best year statistically on the Hill.
Darden a senior from Russellville, KY where he attended Russellville high school.
Throughout his WKU career Darden has recorded 146 tackles, 5 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble in 3 seasons on the Hill.
Cain a Junior from Princeton, Kentucky where he attended Caldwell County high school. Cain played maybe positions for the tigers before settling at linebacker for WKU.
In Cain’s time at WKU he has battled with injuries. Only appearing in 4 games in all of 2018. Throughout Cain’s career at WKU he has totaled 7 tackles and 1 sack in 13 career games.
With the news of all 3 of WKU Footballs captains being from Kentucky makes this team that much more special.
