Monday night WKU targets Eddie Lamkpin and Chanse Robinson announced their college decision will be coming this Friday.
(It doesn’t look good)
Lampkin is a 6’10 center from Kathy, Texas ranked as the #287 overall player in the class of 2020 by 247 sports. Lampkin recently took an official visit with TCU on August 30th and is currently the front runner to land Lampkin on Friday. 247 sports lists Lampkins decision as 100% TCU in 5 crystal ball predictions on their site.
It would have been nice to add Lampkin to the Hilltoppers recruiting class, but it is hard to compete with a young mans home state. I don’t expect Lampkin to commit to Western Kentucky.
Robinson is a 6’0 guard from Grambling, LA. Rated a 3 star prospect by 247 sports and the #233 overall player in the class of 2020. 247 sports lists Buffalo as the favorite to land Robinson in the class of 2020. Although Buffalo is viewed as the favorite I think Ole Miss, and TCU are still in the mix.
Robinson and Lampkin have hinted at teaming up together in college, and with Lampkin likely to chose TCU I think their is a possibility that Robinson follows.
With WKU’s depth at guard for the next several years I believe WKU was never truly high on Robinson’s radar. Rick Stansbury and WKU will still have Jordan Rawls, Taveion Hollingsworth, and Jeremiah Gambrell in 2020, making it difficult for Robinson to find playing time in the beginning of his career. Nonetheless I could be completely wrong and we add 1 or 2 more players to the recruiting class of 2020.
