The second-round tender will cost Seattle around 3 Million in 2019 and will ensure the seahawks will receive a 2nd round pick for Fant if the seahawks decline to match an offer made by another team.
Fant, heading into his 4th season in the NFL, recently finished his 3 year rookie contract and was set to test the open free agent market for the first time if not placed on tender.
This past season, Fant played in all 16 games for Seattle and started in 7 of those games. He also totaled 1 catch for 9 yds.

On Thursday Night at 8:30 PM CT Western Kentucky will take on North Texas in the Second Round of the C-USA tournament in Frisco, Texas. The game will be televised on Stadium and WKU-Pbs here locally in Bowling Green.
Western Kentucky and North Texas met once earlier this season ending in a (62-59) Win for the Hilltoppers. In the previous meeting the Hilltoppers were without their Head Coach Rick Stansbury, filling in his place was assistant coach Marc Hsu. The Hilltoppers are at full strength heading into Thursday nights match-up looking to advance to the semi-finals of the C-USA tournament.
One stat that sticks out from this game is that Western Kentucky shot just 16% (3-18) from the 3 point line against North Texas. That should change this game and lead to a win for Western Kentucky.
The winner of this game will go on to play the winner of (3) Southern Miss. and (6) Marshall on Friday at 3 PM.

Florida International (19-12) overall and (10-8) in C-USA. With wins over Western Kentucky, LA-tech, and Youngstown State. Earlier this season FIU beat North Texas (73-58) on March 9th.
The panthers are lead by Senior Guard Brian Beard (17.4 ppg, 6.1 ast.) and Junior Forward Devon Andrews (15 ppg, 5.2 rebs.)

I expect a close game until the final 5 minutes with FIU pulling away at the end. Final score (FIU 75 NT 66)
IF FIU defeats North Texas tonight that will set the table for a WKU vs FIU rematch Thursday night @8:30 PM CT on Stadium. On January 17th FIU defeated WKU (77-76). The Hilltoppers will be looking for revenge with their season on the line.
