Tuesday afternoon 4 star prospect Selton Miguel of Orlando, Florida committed to Kansas State.

Kansas State was the lead favorite to land Miguel on many major recruiting sites. Those sites had it close between Western Kentucky and Kansas State, but Bruce Weber and Kansas State win this battle.

Rick Stansbury was in to visit Miguel in September during the live recruiting period to make a final push for Selton.

Saturday afternoon 4 star SF Selton Miguel announced his top 5 colleges via his social media

WKU makes the cut along with Kansas State, Texas A&M, TCU, and USF.

247 sports views Western Kentucky and Kansas State as “Warm” in the recruitment of Miguel.

Miguel most recently took a visit with Kansas State on September 6th, he visited Western Kentucky on August 1st. Miguel will make his final decision on October 1st.

Wednesday afternoon WKU Head Coach Rick Stansbury made the trip to Orlando, Florida to make a recruiting pitch to 2020 4 star prospect Selton Miguel.

Those joining Stansbury at West Oaks Academy include Kansas State, Illinois State, FAU, and Oklahoma State. All likely to make Miguels top 7 on September 22nd.

Miguel would be the #8 best overall recruit in WKU Basketball history (per 247 sports).

Over the weekend four star SF Selton Miguel took his official visit to Kansas State, who is thought to be Western Kentucky’s best challenger in recruiting Miguel. In a recent interview with Grant Flanders of Rivals, Miguel said, Kansas State is “recruiting him the hardest.”

I felt good about Western Kentucky landing Miguel before this weekend, but now I’d say it’s 50/50.

It has already been covered that Western Kentucky and Kansas State are both listed as the top contenders for Miguel in 2020. And Miguel says he is still open to the recruitment of other schools and still has the same announcement date of September 22 in his plans.

19 Days until 4 Star SF Selton Miguel is set to narrow his list to 7, recruiting expert Russ Wood predicts Miguel to commit to Western Kentucky.

Woods logged his pick of WKU on the Rivals recruiting website on August 20th.

Russ is an expert on Basketball recruiting with an 89.7% accuracy rate (95/106). Woods has not logged an incorrect prediction in the rivals site since January of this year (20 picks ago).

The Biggest Threat

The biggest threat in the recruitment of Selton is Kansas State, which he will officially visit this weekend. This weekend will be huge in the recruitment of Miguel. Kansas State will get the last visit of Miguels recruiting process. Therefore, getting to make the last impression.

Miguel has risen up the recruiting ranking over the past weeks. Rising from 135th overall in May to 103 overall in late August. (More change likely to come).

With no decison date set yet, adding a commitment of Selton Miguel would mean Western Kentucky would add their 8th best overall prospect in school history according to 247 sports.

Friday afternoon 4 star 2020 SF prospect Selton Miguel announced he will be narrowing his college list to 7 on September 22nd.

Look for Miguel’s Top 7 to include Western Kentucky. Rivals has Miguel’s future cast at 100% WKU. As of right now, Kansas State is expected to be the biggest threat to Western Kentucky in the recruitment of Miguel.

Recently, Selton has flew up the Rivals rankings from 128 to 103rd overall (^25) in the class of 2020.

Top 150 Wing Selton Miguel Is In Bowling Green This Weekend On A Visit | WKU Connection

Top 150 wing Selton Miguel is on campus this weekend on a official visit.

Selton is a 6-4 wing player from Orlando, FL. Currently ranked 125 in the class, 28th at his position of SF, and 12th in the state of Florida in the class 2020 by 247sports.com.

247 sports rates WKU’s chance of landing Miguel as “Warm” along with Kansas State.

He played on the UAA this summer averaging 14.7 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, and 1 steal per game. He currently holds offers from Kansas State, FIU, Iowa State, Old Dominion, USF and others. He only has scheduled visits to WKU and Kansas State, he is allowed to take 3 more visits.

Selton had this to say regarding WKU in a recent interview-

“(I want to see) the campus and their practice facility….. see how they train daily and how they play”
