Hollingsworth set the WKU freshmen scoring record last season with (506) total points through 38 games. The record was previously held by Courtney Lee (461). With the current pace Hollingsworth is currently scoring at he has a good chance at setting the all time WKU scoring record held by Courtney Lee and Jim McDaniels (2,238).

One More Game | WKU Defeats (3) Southern Miss

Thursday afternoon WKU defeated Southern Miss (70-59) in a nail biter until the final 5 minutes. With this win Western Kentucky punches their ticket to the C-USA championship game tomorrow night vs ODU at 7:30 PM CT.

WKU punches their ticket to the C-USA championship

This win makes two straight seasons Western Kentucky will play in the C-USA final. Last season WKU came up short to Marshall (67-66) in a heart breaker on the final play. Tomorrow nights game is crucial for the Rick Stansbury era at WKU, failing to reach the NCAA tournament in the previous two seasons. To say the pressure is on tomorrow night is an understatement.

Tomorrows match-up

ODU is led by C-USA player of the year B.J. Stith who averages 17.3 ppg & 7.4 Rpg. ODU will be looking to avenge their loss to the Hilltoppers last season in the C-USA semi-finals.

In the 2 previous games vs ODU the Hilltoppers are (0-2). They look to get their first win over ODU this season and make an appearance in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2013.

Some key stats: vs ODU

-In the last game we gave up 18 offensive rebounds.

-Committed 16 turnovers

-2/10 from the 3pt line

The Hilltoppers will need to improve on these stats to pull out the victory Saturday night.

Western Kentucky and North Texas met once earlier this season ending in a (62-59) Win for the Hilltoppers. In the previous meeting the Hilltoppers were without their Head Coach Rick Stansbury, filling in his place was assistant coach Marc Hsu. The Hilltoppers are at full strength heading into Thursday nights match-up looking to advance to the semi-finals of the C-USA tournament.

One stat that sticks out from this game is that Western Kentucky shot just 16% (3-18) from the 3 point line against North Texas. That should change this game and lead to a win for Western Kentucky.

The winner of this game will go on to play the winner of (3) Southern Miss. and (6) Marshall on Friday at 3 PM.
